About Us
What is Worker Justice Wisconsin?
Worker Justice Wisconsin empowers workers to stand up for their rights, and brings faith, labor and other community allies together to fight for:
- A just and living wage for all
- Paid time off for all
- Workplaces free from all forms of discrimination and harassment
- Opportunities for collective organizing without fear of retaliation
- A healthy work/life balance for all people regardless of race, gender, national origin, immigration status or creed
Our Mission Statement
Worker Justice Wisconsin advances justice in our community by building collective worker power together with Faith and Labor allies.
Worker justice is...
Eradicating
harassment, discrimination, and power dynamics between employers and employees.
Affirming & Empowering
all people who challenge practices and systems which deny one’s dignity.
Creating
horizontal, consensus-based environments with shared leadership.
Acknowledging
that systemic racism, sexism, and ideas about citizenship impact the experience of a worker and must be dismantled.
Challenging
constructed ideas of power in the workplace and embracing a spirit of collectivism.
Recognizing
that liberation for oppressed workers requires us to see one another as a part of the same community.
“What I have seen at work, at least among ourselves as Hispanics, there is more
discrimination and we often work hard for bad pay. Starting a worker cooperative is
important to me because I want to have my voice heard at work, be an independent person and to be able to employ and help others and provide people with good jobs.”

“I am grateful to Worker Justice Wisconsin because they helped me recover my unpaid wages, and I want to invite everyone having wage problems: you can ask for help. Yes, you can get your unpaid wages back! So I invite you to come to Worker Justice Wisconsin and don’t be afraid. Today, thanks to them, I have recovered 3 months of wages that I thought I’d never see, and I’m very happy and grateful for their support. They are ready to help you with your workplace problems and to demand our rights!”--
