People are still talking about the multi-national day of action in the Fight for $15 last Wednesday, 04-15-15.
Madison had its largest turnout to date from participation among both workers and supporters. This local news report shows clips from the day of action, including much of ICWJ’s participation.
This video from a Madison supporter shows highlights from the action all over E. Washington, from Taco Bell to the Family Dollar, McDonalds, and Burger King (where there is still an open case of wage theft). Clergy and faith-community support of the movement is through ICWJ clergy who spoke throughout the action: Pastor Rafael Cubilette (Sherman Avenue UMC and El Libertador UMC), ICWJ director Rabbi Renee Bauer, and Rev. Everett Mitchell (Christ the Solid Rock Baptist Church).
ICWJ also had a supporter in the San Francisco Bay area write to request some of our original “MADison for $15” buttons for their union/labor button collection.
