Workers’ rights taken under cover of darkness

The Wisconsin State Journal reported that Senate Republicans are breaking the anti-worker budget repair bill up . This way they can eliminate collective bargaining rights for teachers in a stand alone bill – without a single Democratic Senator present.

The Senate voted, without debate, 18-1 (Schultz) to approve a conference committee report which included a substitute amendment containing all non-fiscal provisions of the budget adjustment bill. There were no Democrats present in the Senate.

A large rally is forming at the Capital right now to stand up against this. If you can, please try to come out and take a stand for working families tonight.

The Assembly will convene at 11 AM tomorrow, Thursday, to take action on the bill. We need to show our support both now and tomorrow more than ever! “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And when I am for myself, what am ‘I’? And if not now, when?”

Thank you for your prayers, support, and action in this historic moment! I hope to see many of you at the Capitol!
