A Way Out of No Way: Women, Labor, and Justice Today

On Monday,  February 13, ICWJ will hold its 17th Annual Faith-Labor Breakfast at Bethel Lutheran Church from 8:00-10:00 a.m. Each year, ICWJ brings together faith leaders, labor leaders, and members for a meal and a timely program.

This year ICWJ is pleased to offer a panel of speakers to address a subject we call A Way Out of No Way: Women, Labor, and Justice Today. Recent trends impacting women in the labor market, particularly in the low-income sectors of the new service economy, make this a particularly salient topic in the area of economic justice.

Our lead presenter is Nan Enstad, Prof. of History at the UW-Madison. Her research interest in gender and employment will provide an historical frame of reference to the subject matter. Our two other presenters, Rebecca Meier-Rao, Prof. of Religion at Edgewood College, and Laura Dresser, Associate Director of the Center on Wisconsin Strategy (COWS) at the UW-Madison, will provide reflections on faith and economic observations, respectively, to the morning’s discussion.

To reserve tickets for the Breakfast, go to www.workerjustice.org and click on the Donate button. There you can make a donation of $25 per ticket. To become a member of ICWJ, please add $5 per person. For questions about the Breakfast, please email events@workerjustice.org.
