ICWJ hosts daily sit-ins, sing-ins, teach-ins in front of Governor Walker’s office

The Interfaith Coalition for Worker Justice and Madison-area Urban Ministry are together organizing nightly vigils sponsored by different faith communities at the State Capitol.  We appreciate the First Unitarian Society for spurring this on, and we hope to expand on their efforts.

Members of First Unitarian Society are planning a second “bringing in the Light” candlelight march on Tuesday, March 8, beginning at 7 p.m. Peaceful marchers from all over the area are invited to join in the walk to the capitol to “bring the light” of civility, kindness, love and acceptance of all to the turmoil at the capitol and our state. The march will originate at the First Unitarian Society Meeting House at 900 University Bay Dr. (near the University Hospital Emergency Room) and culminate at the Capitol. Departure from FUS will be at 7 p.m. Please bring your own protected candles (such as candle lanterns) or a flashlight, and any positive sign you care to carry. Join them at FUS or at the Capitol.

See route here and bus information for the return trip from the Capitol to Univ. Bay Dr. is available here.
